Sophia is obsessed with our two kitties Willow and Evee, so I knew a kitty cat themed birthday party would be purrr-fect for her birthday party! I’m excited to share her kitty cat birthday details with you all!
The colors I chose for her party were light pink, black, and white. Our cat Evee is a black cat so I knew I wanted to tie in the color black. And it also goes with the Halloween theme since Sophia’s birthday month is October. This color palette worked so well together. I loved how everything turned out!
Balloon Arch
I wanted to focus on the balloon arch and knew I would make the dessert table the main part of the party. The balloon arch was fun to make but it did take some time to set up. Luckily, I had my husband and brother to help me the night before the party.
First, we blew and tied all the balloons. I ordered these cat paw print balloons to integrate throughout the arch. The light pink balloons and white and black balloons are from Amazon. I used an electric balloon pump which ends up saving you a lot of time! I ended up blowing up different sized balloons and I’m so glad I did this because it made it easier to add them throughout the balloon arch strip. Then, we put the balloons into the balloon arch strip in alternating directions. This gives the arch a fuller look.
I wanted a white backdrop and decided to hang up white tinsel on the wall, and then put the balloon banner over it. We tied pieces of twine onto the balloon arch every few feet. And then tied a thumbtack to it and pinned it to the wall. You could also use command hooks. Hanging up the balloon arch to the wall was probably the trickiest part but having a few extra hands will help the process go by smoothly.
Dessert Table
I wanted to keep the dessert table sweet and simple! I ordered a funfetti vanilla cake from The Cake Company and it was a delicious! I also got these cat plates for the dessert table and got lots of compliments on how cute they were!
I ordered these handmade custom sugar cookies from Sweet Crumb Bakery. They turned out so cute and even have our cats on them! Evee is our black cat and Willow is a brown tabby cat.
Decorations
I decorated the console table by the front door of our house and used my letter board to write a fun message to the birthday guests as they walked in. It’s a great way to remember which guests attended Sophia’s 2nd birthday. “Kitten’s First Full Moon” was a good choice for Sophia’s birthday book, a cute book for toddlers!
I ordered this 12 pack of cat ear headbands from Amazon. These made for a fun party favor to take home. The adults even enjoyed wearing them too!
Bounce House
We also rented a bounce house for all the kiddos that came to the party. Sophia loved it too but only if her dad was inside with her the whole time. I’m glad we ended up having the bounce house, it was a huge hit!
