Whether you’ve been following me since day 1 or you’re new around here, I wanted to give you guys a chance to get to know me a little bit better. I recently celebrated my 32nd birthday so I chose 32 random things about myself to share with you all!
- I’m the oldest of three siblings, and we all live in different states but we’re very close!
- I went to an American high school in South Korea from 8th grade to 12th grade. My dad was a contractor in the Army so we lived near a military base. I loved living in Korea, I miss it so much!
- Speaking of high school, I was on the cheerleading team for four years and got to compete and travel to Japan. Our cheer team won several championships and those were definitely some of my best memories from high school.
- My police officer husband claims that I drive too fast. So whenever we’re driving somewhere, he usually drives! Fun fact — he is the one that taught me how to drive my sophomore year of college. I never learned in high school because I lived in the city and always used taxis or buses for transportation.
- My husband Wes and I met in college and have been together for 13 years and married for 6 years.
- I graduated college with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I was a 4th grade teacher for 5 years and loved it!
- My left thumb is double jointed. Anytime I show someone my thumb bending back, it always freaks them out haha.
- I absolutely love living in Colorado! I love all of the summer and winter activities, there is so much to do here all year long. I’m still trying to convince my sister and brother to move here so they can enjoy it with me. Colorado has my heart and you can find me in the mountains throughout the summer!
- My favorite food is Korean food. I’m half Korean so it makes sense but I literally could eat it all day everyday.
- I’m allergic to cats but funny enough I have two cats, Willow and Evee. I’m a cat lover, so it hasn’t stopped me from owning them!
- I hate olives and mushrooms. Something about the smell and texture makes me gag haha.
- I’m an extrovert and always find myself doing things. I can’t stay home more than a day or two, and tend to keep myself busy. Even though I’m a stay at home mom I’m usually running errands, going on playdates, going to the gym, or catching up with family and friends.
- One of my bad habits is picking the nail polish off my nails. Most of the time I don’t even realize I do it until half of the polish is all scraped off.
- I’m a night owl and always stay up way too late reading most nights. Last year I read 47 books, and my goal this year is to read 50 books.
- My current obsession is gardening. I’m really excited to grow more flowers this upcoming spring and summer.
- Dahlias and zinnias are my favorite flowers.
- Ever since I was a little girl I’ve always wanted to be a mommy. Being a mom is one of the greatest joys of my life.
- My whole life I’ve had bad vision. After many years of wearing contacts and glasses I decided to get lasik. The first time I did it, it didn’t work. I had terrible bruising in both eyes and my poor eyes looked terrible! After the second surgery, my vision is now super clear. I will say that my eyes are very sensitive to light and I tend to get headaches because of it, but overall I’m so glad that I got lasik.
- I love my paper calendars, physical planners, and paper lists. It’s the only way I can stay organized and get things accomplished as a stay at home mom.
- I’m a sucker for finding good sales and deals! I usually buy clothes or things we need when there’s a sale going on. I’m all about saving money when I can.
- My husband and I have hiked 7 fourteeners in Colorado together (before having kids). A fourteener is a mountain peak higher than 14,000 feet. I’m hoping that we get back into hiking fourteeners in the future. Although it’s super challenging, the views at the top are absolutely worth it!
- I currently have zero tattoos. But I’d love to get one someday.
- I have asthma and always carry my inhaler with me in my purse. I’ve had asthma my whole life and I’ve always struggled with my breathing especially when I’m sick. Luckily, I’ve gotten good at managing it.
- During my freshman year of college, I was nominated as the “Freshman’s Finest” award. Our college mascot was the Thunderwolf so I got to spend the day with an actual husky/wolf dog and walk around with her during our football games. Till this day I have no clue who voted for me, but it was definitely a fun surprise!
- My favorite color was always turquoise blue growing up but now I’m loving lilac and lavender purple.
- I love watching all different types of documentaries, especially crime documentaries.
- My favorite desserts are ice cream and milkshakes.
- One thing I’ve been really working on lately is self care. Since having my girls, this is not something that happens as often as I’d like but I try to make it a priority several times a week. Working out has been a big one lately and I’ve been enjoying it so much.
- My favorite trip ever is when my husband and I went to Kauai when I was pregnant with Sophia. The stunning views, the food, the beaches, it was all so beautiful. We hope to go back one day and bring the girls with us because it is truly such a cool island!
- My middle name is “June”, after my grandma’s middle name. Growing up I did not like it because it’s not very common but I’ve grown to love it. It’s becoming a popular name!
- I hate being cold so I’m always bundling up during the winter and use extra blankets on my bed at night.
- One of my New Years resolutions is to focus on expanding my blog and getting content out more regularly and consistently. I have so many ideas and can’t wait to share with you soon!
Thank you for sticking it out to the end, hopefully this helped you get to know me a little bit better. I hope you’re having a good start to the New Year!
