My little baby isn’t so little anymore! I can’t even believe how fast this year went by. I swear it goes by faster the second time around! I was so excited to bring together our close family and friends to celebrate miss Amelia turning ONE!
She is obsessed with Winnie the Pooh, so I knew that was going to be her theme for her first birthday party. I love that it’s such a classic and timeless theme. My husband was joking around saying that Amelia kind of looks like Pooh bear with her big tummy and chubby cheeks, and its so true! She’s 21 pounds, and is just as big as her big sister! And if you know Amelia, she is as sweet as honey!
Balloon Arch
I loved how the balloon arch turned out! I think the half balloon arch looks just as good as a full balloon arch. I found this Winnie the Pooh backdrop on Amazon, and loved how it turned out with the balloon arch!
I used my electric balloon pump to inflate the pink, golden yellow, and rose gold balloons. I then put them into a balloon arch strip in alternating directions. Make sure you blow them up in different sizes. Then, I hung up the arch to the wall using string and push pins. I had the help of my husband and sister to hang up the balloons onto the wall.
Dessert Table
I used this pink and white checkered tablecloth along with these wood slab serving boards from Amazon. I love the rustic, woodland touch that goes along with the Winnie the Pooh theme.
I ordered a white chocolate raspberry cake from Cake Company. I ended up making the cake topper with my Cricut maker and added these Winnie the Pooh figurines. These were a big hit with my 2 year old who ended up playing with them after the party!
The blueberry cupcake was perfect for Amelia’s “smash cake” and it was the perfect size! Watching her eat the cupcake was the highlight of her birthday party. She destroyed it within a few minutes and enjoyed every bite of it!
I also got these Winnie the Pooh plates for the dessert table. I ordered these handmade custom sugar cookies from a friend. She did such an outstanding job, I mean look at the detail within each cookie!
Decorations
How cute is this high chair birthday banner? I love the bee and floral tassels on it. I got the high chair banner from Amazon, as well as the rose gold 1 balloon. It’s not a one year old birthday party if you don’t have a big 1 balloon, right?
I hung Amelia’s milestone pictures on a piece of twine with clothespins. I wanted to use what I already had, so this was perfect to display Amelia’s growth over the year!
I decorated this table with a letter board and a Pooh bear that was gifted to us. I had these party favor cups filled with playdoh, sunglasses, and candy.
Outfit
Amelia’s birthday outfit is from Etsy. It’s an adorable romper that has her name embroidered on it. I love the pink and yellow colors, which went along with the Winnie the Pooh theme. We got lots of compliments on it! Her birthday bow is from Etsy as well.
We forgot to take a family photo during the party, so we took one later that day when both of our girls were in their jammies. I guess thats what life is like now with two kids, always trying to capture those imperfect moments. But I think they’re some of my favorite pictures!
It was such a special day celebrating Amelia’s first birthday, I truly enjoyed this day! Thanks for stopping by!
